Bridge End House Nursery - Brighouse
Our Rooms
Under Two's Unit (6 weeks to 1 year & 1-2 years)
Our purpose designed under two's unit provides a safe and homely environment for tiny babies, to inquisitive two-year olds.
The unit is carefully equipped to meet the needs of your new baby or toddler. The unit is carefully split into three age appropriate areas, with activities carefully planned to suit this age range.
It is essential that in these rooms, parents are able to communicate with the team of nursery nurses, to ensure a smooth transision from hoime to nursery.
One room provides a homely base for our tiny babies, with all the comforts of home. Here we try to ensure that ytour babies routine at home will be mirrored in their day in nursery, ensuring that their is as little change as possible for your child.
Another room provides a carpeted area for children who are now mobile, with role-play activities, simple dressing up and storybooks, as well as familiar toys for this age group. The final room, creates a physical play area, with large climbing gym, slide, steps and ramp, as well as some where for our budding artists to practice. Quiet areas are provided for the children to rest or sleep in, or to simply enjoy a bit of quiet time, after all the exciting activities.
The Under Two's Unit accommodates a total of 21 children with a one-three staffing ratio and a keyworker system in operation.
Infant Unit (2 years to 3 years)
Two to three year olds enjoy an environment with lots of provision for enquiring minds and opportunities to learn the answer to the perpetual question 'why?' Playing, resting, creating, exciting activities are implemented by a resourceful team of nursery nurses in this unit. The staffing ratio is one nursery nurse to four children.
Split into four areas this unit offers a quiet room for reading and less energetic activities, an imaginative room, for the children to engage in role play and move about freely.
The entrance room, provides opportunities for table top activities and children are able to select these themselves, and of course the essential messy room, where your child can experience all the joys, of play dough, paint, sticking and of course sand and water on a daily basis. With a one to four staffing ratio this unit is well equipped to cope with the demands of the needs of this age group.
Pre School Unit(3 years to 5 years)
Our Ofsted registered nursery with its team of highly qualified nursery nurses led by Karen Gravenor, provides the children with a curriculum for the Foundation stage, working through the Early Learning Goals, set out by the DFES.
The curriculum encourages co-operation, develops group responsibility amongst the children and above all is fun. This unit has a staffing ratio of one member of staff to eight children. A parents pack is available for this unit and our OFSTED report is available on the Ofsted website and through the nursery. Education sessions run from 9.15am - 11.45am and from 1.00pm - 3.30pm.
The Pre School Unit is divided into bays with open shelving units enabling the children to select materials and solve problems for each new task. These areas are a permanent feature and children have open access to all areas. Areas are changed and enhanced to compliment and support themes and to maintain the children?s interest and enthusiasm.
